Rigsarkivet (The National Archives) is located next door to Christiansborg Palace and is definitely worth a visit if you are a history enthusiast. Go ahead and dive into the ancient history of Denmark.

Rigsarkivet offers history en masse. Besides the historical sources, there are changing exhibitions, events, and activities. It is always free to visit Rigsarkivet, explore the exhibitions and take part in the various activities on offer.

The Cultural District

Besides Rigsarkivet, you can explore the other cultural offers on Slotsholmen. See the historical costumes at The Theatre Museum or the various weapons at The Royal Arsenal Museum. You can also immerse yourself in sculptures at Thorvaldsen's Museum, or you can learn more about Jewish culture and history at the Danish Jewish Museum.
